As Chelsfield and the Warren Road area becomes increasingly popular, it is more important than ever to keep the area clean and green so that we can all continue to enjoy the benefits of our surroundings.
Since 2011 local residents have been litter picking and working with Bromley Council and its contractor, idverde to maintain the pathways, green areas and woodlands around Warren Road. A huge amount of litter, fly-tipping and graffiti have been removed. This local group has been formed to further improve the area with the support of Bromley Council and also by possible external grant funding.
We meet at the green area of Warren Road, opposite the top end of Cloonmore Avenue, at 10am to collect equipment and receive a safety briefing. Equipment, bags, gloves, litter grabbers and hiviz jackets are provided. We will then work individually (or in family groups). At the end of the litter pick (around 11.15am), filled rubbish bags should be left at the junction of Warren Road/Meadway for collection by IDverde. We then visit the Café in Windsor Drive after the event for tea, coffee and a chat. (cafe closed at present expected to reopen soon)
Litter pick dates for 2024
13th January, 16th March, 11th May,
13th July, 14th September, 16th November
all Saturdays
We regularly get 10-20 helpers and this makes the job so much easier. Our thanks to all who continue to take part..
